  • Not always, but it is sometimes true when they say “see the bitch, see the pup”

  • I have started to just tire seeing and hearing about violencein Sao Paulo and in Brazil in general. When I first arrived here in Brazil I lived in Curitiba andstarted to teach the second week I arrived just over 7 years ago. The firstclass that I taught was a group of 10 people and they had all been victims ofcrimes and robbery. I was quite…[Read more]

  • I have lived in Brazil for over 7 years and never had a problem, 4 of those in Sao Paulo. I am from East London and often had to avoid walking in places where I knew that yobs would try and mug me. Also on return visits to the Uk thugs have tried to start fights on the metro or on the night bus and I have often seen people act very agressively…[Read more]

  • If you have not got your card make them check on the screen to see where it is. Mine was in Rio and should have been in Sao Paulo. Make them check, don’t accept it has not arrived yet. Ask them if it is still in Brazilia.

  • Last July, the 27th I applied for my permanent visa. Finally got my CIE in Sao Paulo, Lapa today. It had been sent to Rio and I had to wait for it to come back to Sao Paulo. Also notcied that teh que for our kisok was very very short, so it seems that they are breaking the back of it.

  • Don’t waste your time trying to call, just email this address and ask them, they will tell you if your card has been issued and where it is.http://dicre.cgpi@dpf.gov.br

Hi Troy, yes I did something similar, but in the end I took out the statements out of my file because they wanted all my students to go to the cartorio. I had the Micro empresar paperwork and also the tax returns and bank statements so there was no need for them. I had to argue with the Feds on my thrid visit as they said I did not have enough…[Read more]

Actually I wanted to do it as well, perhaps we should set up another forum, citizenship after amnesty so that this does not all get too confusing and the information is split for the various functions. Well done for posting the link.

Hi troy boy, you just go and see an accountant and get them to open a microempresar for you, then you go and pay first payment, get a reciept that you have no tax debts, make a declaration of your earnings and profession or you go and get a friend to stamp your little book and they leave you alone.

After seeing that Aleather collected his card I knew that we did all our paperwork roughly at the same time, so went to Lapa today to collect my card. They told me there was no card. I asked to check again to see if there were any outstanding questions and to see if my paperwork was in Brazilia or there at the station in Lapa as happened before.…[Read more]

  • Guys, can you get back on topic, namely amnesty and the process thereafter? While social history is important, it is not what this forum is about. Please, I only want emails about the amnesty. Why don’t you guys swop emails, go for a beer or do facebook or something, I don’t need ten needless emails from you lot talking about things which I do not…[Read more]

  • Dear Florianopolite. While you may find the system hard to deal with here in Brazil, Gringoes is a public forum and you are constantly rude and nasty. If you have mental problems perhaps you should go and see a psychiatrist and go on medication as your postings continue to be aggressive and rude. I do not need to receive 3 or 4 stupid emails daily…[Read more]

  • Hi, just take the protocol, it will be fine as they just stamp the extension on it, they do not even issue a new sincre. Good luck… same queue as the CIE as before on the right hand side on the top floor, it does not take that long as most of the Bolivianos have dissapeared.

  • just do a search for my name on the posts, you will find a list i put up.

  • Hi Aleather. Yes I went on Monday. Guess what? No card! They stamped my document with another 6 months and told me to try again in a couple of months. They said it is being shown being printed Braslia, but who knows. I will try again in a couple of months. Good luck with yours.

  • Hi A leather, yes I have to go to the police feds in two weeks to see if the card is there. A friend of mine was in Police Fed a few weeks ago and checked with them. They looked at the screen and said my card would arrive by the time of the expiry of the first temp permanent visa. Will let you know what happens.

  • Don’t worry about it at this stage. my √ßast one from the amnesty took 20 monhts to arrive; Just make sure you follow it up at 180 at the police fed as last time it turned out my file was sitting in Lapa and had not been sent on.
