I have an apartment to rent very close to Paulista (the Bela vista side)…It’s a quiet tree line street next to FGV University…In my opinion much nicer than Jardins!
Please let me know if you are interested.
Thanks and good luck.
I did a course to become a tour guide and after I graduated, I went to EMBRATUR to get my credentials and was kindly told to come back when I had a permanent visa.

Hello!
I am interested in working in tourism and wondered if I should become, or need to be qualified / registered to show people around Sao Paulo? I wondered if you wouldn’t mind telling me who you contacted at EMBRATUR? (I have a permanent visa). I can’t seem to find the right information from their website….
Many thanks for your help
Hello !

For the moment, I m getting together all the documentation, translation, etc. I should have everything by the end of this week, so I m planning to go to the PF next week. I will post here when I got more information. Apparently you need to¬†go there with all the documents and with your partner. But if the PF is a easy trip for you,¬†I recommend to check directly with them…as each case seems different

If you want, send me your email in private and I can send u all the document they gave during my last visit.

My CIE is due in April too, I would recommend to start now…
Thank you so much for this. I sent you my email yesterday, so if you could send along the list of documents, that would be wonderful. I’m thinking of going to the FP tomorrow.
I’ve been looking again at the FP website and don’t fully understand why the situation is different for visas awarded under the 77/08 rules! (In any case, they have already had translated and authenticate copies of my documents twice (one copy sent to Brasilia where I applied for the visa and one copy at the FP in Sao Paulo.I can’t believe that they would really need the same copies all over again…!).
Thanks for your help

Hi!
I was wondering if you have already started the process of renewing your CIE and could share your experiences? Mine is due to expire in April and I am confused as to what I need to do. Do I just take the items listed in your post (from the DFP email) to the Federal Police? How soon should I do this? Many thanks for your help!

Hello
I need to renew my CIE in April this year (I received it 2 years ago. I’ve read a variety of posts on here regarding this topic, so apologies if someone has already answered this information, but I want to get this right.
My RNE / CIE was awarded due to having a civil union (civil partnership in the UK). Am I right in thinking the following:
1.Complete the ‘formulário para solicita√ßão de registro’ on the Federal Police website.
2. You are given an appointment at the Federal Police
3. You take along your CIE, your passport and an authenticated copy (of each page?), 2 passport sized photographs and proof of having paid the tax (Taxa REGISTRO DE ESTRANGEIROS/RESTABELECIMENTO DE REGISTRO R$64,58).
Questions:
Is there anything missing from the list above?
How soon in advance should I start doing this?
Many thanks for your help!

Hey Joanne
I live near in the Centre of Sao Paulo (Paulista) and would be up for a coffee / beer and a chat one day if you are around. I’m in my 30’s British and I’ve been in Brazil for what seems like a lifetime (getting on for ten years).
I’ve just come back from a long stay in Europe and have realised that I miss not knowing many non-brazilians in Sao Paulo (my English was screwed up when I got to the UK)…Anyway, let me know if you are around 🙂

Hey Chris
How are you doing? I would be up for a Brit meet up in Sao Paulo and as you said I don’t believe there is one…I left a message on your site.
Let me know if you are interested and perhaps we can start a community.

Hey Nick
Just read your post. If you are interested, I run an English book club at the British Council Library in Pinheiros, which meets on the first Monday of each month from 6 – 8pm (the next meeting is on 7 February). Sadly, we don’t drink beer whilst we talk, but it’s fun and has already been going for over a year. For more information, please check out the British Council website:
http://www.britishcouncil.org/br/brasil.htm
The book for the next group is ‘The time traveler’s wife’. I hope you are able to come.
Thanks
