We know, dont we, that any attempt to accurately predict anything other than the weather in Brazil can be as futile an endeavour as attempting to retain wind during a wine & cheese party. Predictions are all the more precarious given the brazen shenanigans that are currently at play with our beloved President and her nine fingered puppet master – what an unashamed pair of corrupt desperados. The ass has fallen out of the currency for many and various reasons however, it is unlikely to recover in such an unstable anti-investor environment and with the central bank counter intuitively attempting to devalue the Real even further. In a chaotic world of rabid global politics, who would be brave enough to step up with a prophecy?

Wow! Finally the system has allowed me to post. A big thank you goes out to Farbewerk for sorting this out.

The good news, following recent check-ups, is that there has been no progression. She’s in good spirits and so we take each day at a time. And thank you for your good wishes. Meanwhile she’s addicted to the daily news about our beloved politicians and thus far has resisted the temptation to throw the cat at the TV screen!

Since the beginning of this extraordinary year we have seen the dollar bounce, in a Homer Simsonesque tumble down stairs, falling 13% in exchange rate value with our beloved BRL. Aside from the breathtaking corruption in Brazilian politics, the big question, apart from the current global downturn in growth, is what is keeping the Real from trading at a realistic value relative to its global size and importance?
Europe, its whole future in question, is now grasping at straws since its negative interests rates combined with money printing have proved ineffective in battling deflation and political cynicism. Similarly, Japan had already proved that such monetary policies are ineffective yet Central Banks have no other tools with which to combat the current global phenomenon – Central banks, that is,with the unique exception of the Federal Reserve, whose eye-watering money printing and abuse of the almighty dollar is the stuff worthy only in works of pure fiction. In fact when one studies these shenanigans it is entirely possible to enjoy the intellectual truth & drama which unfolds in the movie, ‘Batman v Superman’.

I’m here, lets talk. Exchange rates are relative to which currency. As we all know this thread used to revolve around the dollar. Very good, but I bet no one predicted brexit effect for us brits. I’m loving the fact that the pound is so low against the real, but only because I’m moving cash back.
