Hey,

I'm moving to Brazil shortly and I am going to bring an unlocked European iPhone.

Will i be able to get a 3g sim card for the phone?
What are the data options? i.e. 5gig download, 10gig
Is there widespread 3g connections within the major cities rio, sao paulo, salvador?
What carrier would you recommend using with the iphone?

Any other advice or personal experience appreciated.

Thanks

Yes, no problem with the sim cards.

Your data options are about 1gb max right now with a limited bandwidth of up to 20gb or so per month of usage (at which case the speed will drop to a slow speed for the rest of the month).
There are widespread carriers in the major cities. You will have to do a websearch on 3g connections as this has been discussed many times about the various cities!

What does shortly mean? remember that when signing up for a phone number that you generally need a CPF number, I think you can get around this with some major companies that offer an international contact number (TIM?), but can't remember for sure.

Most 3g plans will require that you sign on for a certain amount of time as a minimum if you pay per month (a year I think?), there are some companies that offer pay as you go per month plans, but they tend to be quite a bit more expensive.
