This is something that I'm questioning completely out of interest.

It's been my observation that the "grande maioria" of Gringoes in Brazil are of some sort of Caucasian background. Of course there are exceptions, but this just seems to be the "norm" if you could call it that.

It would be interesting to hear what the race of your wife/husband is, because even though Brazil is racially diverse, it seems that most white gringoes are with White Brazilians. And if they aren't 100% white, they lean on the whiter side of Pardo or "morena/moreno."

If you feel comfortable, it would be interesting to hear your situation to maybe find some sort of pattern! Or maybe there is none, who knows?

Smile

I'm from a white, jewish, cuban. german background...about as diverse as you can f**king get. Typical melting pot American...and minha namorada is a morena, gorgeous with obvious indigenous roots.

Personally, I'm attracted more to the morenas than the loras.

I'm from a dutch, welsh, french hugenot, jewish backgound, typical for the Jordaan in Amsterdam, my wife is white, but the rest of her family is all different shades of grey.

As a pure bred Zulu suffering the same pigmentation affliction that befell the late great Michael Jackson, I fell in love with and married a cross-bred Inuit/Cherokee princess. Following the death of her father, Chief Kicking Bear, and there being no male heirs, she inherited the casino.

There followed substantial prejudice and resistance from the elders of the tribe because of our mixed race relationship and the likelihood of offspring that would, in turn, become future leaders of the Cherokee nation. We feared for our lives. And so it came to pass, following two days in the Sweat Lodge, we had a vision.

The casino was sold for a considerable sum and, with half of the proceeds paid to a Brazilian immigration official, we were granted an asylum-seeker permanent visa. We currently live in a four bedroom, two suite tipi in the suburbs of Recife where both of us fit in completely unnoticed. I like the drums and she, dancing around the campfire at night.

@Esprit: Fail, you simply try to hard and end up being a lame ass comedian wannabe.

I'm a viking wanker (as the hashers call us Norwegians) and gf#1 is a mulata (chocolate from Bahia), gf#2 is white.
Potential gf#3-4 are white as well (work in progress).

When at forros I usually end up with morenas.
Don't like the music to much but it is a great place to pick up them sheilas.
Being open minded I dabble with various Indian mixtures when working in Amazonas.

Twirly, as you are a self-confessed wanker, I thought that you may appreciate its definition that describes you perfectly, enjoy:

According to the http://wiki.fandomwank.com/index.php/Fandom_Wank - http://www.journalfen.net/community/fandom_wank/ - wank consists of "Self-aggrandizing posturing. http://wiki.fandomwank.com/index.php/Fan - absurdities. Circular ego-stroking. Endless http://wiki.fandomwank.com/index.php/Flamewar - . Pseudointellectual definitions."

Chamber's Dictionary defines wank as "an act or instance of masturbation," while wanky is simply "objectionable, contemptible." Cassell's Dictionary of Slang suggests that a wanker is "a general derog. description of a lazy, incompetent, unpleasant person," noting in passing that the word may be derived from late C19th Yorkshire dialect, where a http://wiki.fandomwank.com/index.php/Wanker - wanker was a simpleton. It is Australia's Macquarie Dictionary which seems to have the most appropriate printed definition, offering as its fourth definition "behaviour which is self-indulgent or egotistical," also suggesting the reflexive verb 'to wank oneself,' meaning "to maintain an illusion; deceive oneself." Amusingly, the third definition it gives for wank is "a hobby." LOLLOLLOLLOL

I'm "snow white" Scandinavian. My wife is white with black long curly hair (with Brazilian hot head of course), her father is Portuguese, her mother is white but her side of family has all kind of mixtures from one almost black aunt to all shades of skin colors (the normal Brazilian diverse?).

I'm of Italian/Irish/French Canadian/Native American descent, with a very fair complexion, freckles, reddish-brown hair and greenish-brown eyes (I would not consider myself a redhead or green-eyed, but many Brazilians do).

My husband is 1/4 Portuguese, 3/4 Nordestino.  Though his father and half-siblings would be clearly identified as black in the US, my husband is just as white as I am (and sunburns more easily too).

I think this is much truer of gringAs than gringOs.  I've met more gringas marreid to Japanese-brazilians than morenos.  In Rio, I only know one girl married to a "moreno" and he is more "hispanic" or "Mexican" looking (light/medium brown with no African features).

At the same time, I know several foreign men married to moreninhas.

Current GF is a true mulata. Mom is black as night and dad is 2nd generation from Port. My last GF was about as good an example of the stereotypical mixed girl, about a third of Indian, black and white. But I go for every type. From blond, to asian to black. This just happened more by chance.

Oh and I am a blond American. The type that doesn't know too much about his overall ancestory, just that his last names on both sides are from the British Isles.

Well, assuming that race exists....

I'm a white, blonde-haired, blue-eyed American (English/German descent) with freckles. My husband is a dark skinned, dark eyed, dark haired man from the Amazon. He does not appear to be of African descent, rather is definitely Native American.

Like everyone said, my husband has a very diverse family and this makes me even more excited to see how our son will look (we'll find out next month).

You see, when there's a diverse mix in the genetic makeup, this kind of thing can actually happen. One sibling can have more caucasian features, and the other native-american / black features. My sister's skin is much lighter than mine and my brother's, but the facial features are all very similar.

As for my cousins, they both have light skin, but one has black features, such as a narrower forefront and crisp hair, combined with light skin that tans and green eyes, and his younger brother looks completely caucasian, with a light skin that burns in the sun, blue-gray eyes, and blond curly hair. Their faces look the very similar, though (you even get confused about who is who when you look at their baby photos).

I'm white as a bloody snow, of slovenian/serbian descent (Balkans). Father Serbian, mother Slovenian. 35 years, 170 cm, 75 kg, blue eyes, gray hair. In my country I'm lucky if I see black people once every two years, so here in Northeast (Olinda) I stick out like a sore thumb. Not married single, my first girlfriend in Olinda was white and I prefer white but usually end up with morenas/mulatas. Time will tell if I'll ever get married. I'm currently in Brazil on job hunt so for the time being love life has been set aside, will be leaving Brazil by the end of this week.

I am a natural blonde (think swiss maid or even Albino blonde) with green eyes my "ethnic" background is German, Norwegian, Scottish and Welch. I literally could not be any whiter. My fiance is of African decent. His mom is lighter his dad a medium moreno, he has on sis that is darker and on that is lighter. Their whole family is full of "mixed" marriages. I cant wait to see what our kids will look like. Race is a cultural concept that is skin deep and biologically non existent. Still... this is an interesting forum and I thought I would share.
