The new gringo goes into a restaurant expecting good service.
The old gringo goes into a restaurant expecting Lousy Service.
And, and if he has´nt complained about the service he calls over the manager anyway to find out whats going on

The new gringo goes to a store to buy something and expects the sales person to attend only him
The old gringo knows that while being attended, the sales person will also attend other persons or chat with co-workers |

Or deliberately serves the other person beind at the same time just to `iss him off.
Whilst still in the store and being rudely treated the new gringo will expect some kind of eye contact between salesperson and customer.
The old gringo expects no eye contact whatsoever and actually expects the attendents head to be facing in the opposite direction when being handed the change.

The new gringo actually expects the sales person to know something about the products he's selling, the old gringo knows the sales person don't and doesn't care.
The new gringo expects the "customer is always right" to be valid in brazil, the old gringo knows this is "the customer is sometimes right" in Brazil. |
