Are you serious or really sarcastic?  The movie propagandizes war so I mean I guess people of many cultures and times could identify with whats going on.  Others may not reach the same conclusion if they don't believe all people carry on war for what they believe are the right reasons.

Its fine if your opinion is different about the middle east but I hope that opinion isn't based on this movie :)

Anyhow I don't see movie previews, the first I heard of it was in the news.  Some people in Iran were condemning the movie for being propagandistic.  Something like http://www.smh.com.au/news/world/iran-furious-at-spartan/200 7/03/31/1174761816014.html.  So I watched for it when I watched the movie.

I don't think most americans would make the connection between the persians in this movie and iran (do they share a past?  I don't know).  But it is apparent how each army sort of has a style which we'd naturally associated with the race of the army.  And only the white army is associated with positive virtues.  So it disappoints me.

The movie is worth watching for the digitally enhanced nipple shots though.  woot

They do indeed:

Iran, (Persian: ايران‎ , Īrān; pronunciation: [iːˈɾɒn], officially the Islamic Republic of Iran (Persian: جمهوری اسلامی ايران‎ , transliteration: Jomhūrī-ye Eslāmī-ye Īrān), and also known as Persia in the West, is the world's seventeenth largest country, located at the junction of the Middle East, Southwest Asia, and the Caucasus.

(wikipedia)

And I doubt the majority of Americans (+ many others) would make - or care about - the connection.

Not my sort of film, really, but I might go and see it if the wife wants to indulge her taste for taut male bodies (like mine, of course). And what's all this about nipples, anyway...?

Persia literally is Iran?  WTF they shouldn't make movies like that IMHO.  I feel betrayed by the electric nipples.

Its true that the americans fight for freedom of justice and the arabs fight for opression and terror.

I would love to know what the arabs were thinking at the end when they were facing 10.000 spartans leading 30.000 free greeks against them!
