![]() Topic: Send money out of Brazil via PaypalPosted: 20 August 2012 at 07:04 |

Hi everybody,
I checked most of the topics under'Money transfers', but I still need some help! I have a Bradesco account and i want to send money to my Dutch bank account/ or the Dutch bank account of my parents. At the moment i'm on vacation in Holland and i thought that withdrawing the money here in Holland with my Bradesco Debit card would be a cheap option....but it's not cheap! The maximum i can get is 200,00 Euros. i went to ABN AMRO and Deutsche Post Bank. Both banks charged 20 Reais fee. And the exchange rate is 2,70 for 1 Euro. And the current exchange rate is 2,45....So, i feel that i don't get a good value for my Reais... So i want to use Paypal: Here are my questions: 1. Can i open 2 Paypal accounts: 1 with my Bradesco account and 1 with my Dutch account number? 2. If i open a Paypal account for my Bradesco account, i choose country Brazil, so automatically everything is in Portuguese...Any ideas to change this to English/ or Dutch?! 3. Do i have to worry about mail from Paypal, because i'm going to change my address in Brazil within a month. 4. Does anyone also send money this way (i'm thinking about sending a 1000,00 Reais per months, if so, is this a good way to send money? |

Hi, I've got a European paypal and a Brazlian paypal and it's possible to transfer money between the two. It's quite painless once you get it setup but the exchange rate is not great, especially now with the new IOF taxes in Brazil. Also my European paypal got blocked by paypal when I set it up as they register ip addresses and I had to send them documents by e-mail including proof of address in Europe to prove I was a resident there. Luckily one of my bank accounts is still registered with a European address so it wan't a problem for me. I assume this is because I was accessing both paypal accounts from the same computer and it got flagged as fraud.

@ Estrangeiro:
When i'm back in Brazil i will try this. I read many times that there are cheaper ways on sending money. But now i don't care about the costs anymore. End of August i'm going to the Bradesco bank and check it out! @Molendinar: I tried to open a Paypal account yesterday (country: Brazil). But it didn't take my cardnumber from the Bradesco bank. It says debit/credit card, but i didn't use it as a creditcard, maybe i have to 'liberate' it and then it might work. If i do continue with this, i'll make sure to use an account from my dad, and not use 1 computer...thanks! Now i'm thinking about using a prepaid-credit card (Mineiro's idea) to send 2000,00 Reais. And i'm going to the bank to see how much the money-wire costs... |

Some more info:
Today i went to the Bradesco bank. i asked them about the costs to transfer 2000,00 Reais to my Dutch bank account. It costs 180,00 Dollars per transaction, and some taxes... So it's quite expensive... I'm going to look for a travel prepaid creditcard!! |

Have you read the other posts of today? http://www.gringoes.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=15730&PN=2 You can transfer that money with very little fees and 0.5% off commercial exchange rate if you go to a "corretora de cāmbio", much cheaper that Bradesco (who is very bad by the way) and even cheaper than Visa or Mastercard or American Express travel money. |
