![]() Topic: My girlfriend is here on a tourist visa. What nowPosted: 15 August 2012 at 14:22 |

?
She's my fiance but we don't want to have to expedite the wedding just to have her stay here with me. I'm on a Type V and will be here for another year or two. We're constantly traveling outside the country so overstaying isn't an option. How about her signing up at a Portuguese school and staying on a student visa? Possible? Or am I f'd? My company is "doing their best" to help out with this but have proved to be incompetent yet again. This isn't an easy place to live and I often question myself why I am here. Any ideas? |

Have her apply for a type V temp visa based on a "união estável".

Thanks Sven.
Is it true that the stable union app takes a year to process and it isn't guaranteed? Are costs reasonable? |

It's not, at least for permanent visas. I thing temp visas are easier. Yes it can take a year or more, but she'll be legal from the time she has the protocol. |
