That's called discussion. Unless it's swearing and abuse, or contravenes the stated rules of the community, it should not be moderated. If people don't wish for this they should not be posting their questions on an free-access public forum.

However, we could use some remedial work on the level of spam advertising.

If I was to be critical of your choice of words, would that come under the heading of 'ironizing'?

It's actually a fairly friendly and international bunch here - we just all have our own quirks I guess, and there are plenty of come-and-go colourful characters, who I half-suspect are actually the website owner who is generating some interest so that the website keeps getting used!

I think that posting IP address next to the user name in posts will resolve a lot of problems. However the owner doesnt even know how to change the structure of the forum so he will not know that either...
