You can't be retired at 30. These people are complete clowns.

The best thing for you to do is get your paper work in order (your birth cert, with consular stamp, birth cert of your child) and come to Brazil. Check with the federal police on what else to bring, fill out the form and pay the dues and file for permanent residency. Just don't forget to inform the Feds that you work offshore and don't forget to inform them when you leave the country to work.

kevie, first.. calm down.

now.. give the company a call and ask them nicely what's the status. It very well may a case where your paperwork is waiting in Brasilia to be processed. (I think the FP are on strike now anyway).

This is Brazil. I can count the number of things that actually happen fast on 1 hand.

No everyone I have spoken to have had problems with global visas it's the company, I've read at least 50 posts over the Internet, taking people's money then never getting them the visa, shame.

I would have ran for the hills on the promise of a PERMANENT visa in 20 days. I don't even think Dilma could make that happen, somewhere in the process even if the president requested it, it would somehow take 6 months to get it through. You got robbed plain and clear by them, so take it as a lesson. Hopefully some of the advice that was given can help you, I know how you must feel being apart from them.

Thats not actually true MOL, you can be any age to obtain a VIPER under retirement, they key is the amount of your pension that you will be bringing here, not your age!

Whilst I am married to a Brazilian, but were married in Europe, I chose the retirement visa as the least painful option to stay here. 90 days to complete thru London, no fuss, very simple. I retired at 35

Well the viper retirement visa might be an option, would this visa allow you to work and live in brazil after the 90 day completion.
