Hello,
I'll be in São Paulo for a few weeks in September. There seem to be tons of hostels, and I've seen some reviews on hostel websites, but I figured I'd come here to see if anyone had any personal recommendations.

I know each hostel has its own "personality" -- I'm looking for a more chill hostel than one of those that likes to focus on parties or night-life.
And perhaps a hostel that has single rooms, or is good for someone planning to stay a few weeks (as opposed to a few days), or at the very least, a place with wi-fi and luggage locking.

Hi! I don't know if this late post will help you, but there is a new hostel here in Sao Paulo close to the "Alto do Ipiranga" metro, really realy good. I booked a room for my Norwegians friends this month and they loved. People who is looking for a clean, nice, safe place in Sao Paulo + breakfast and wifi included.

Every thing depends on your budget by the way :)
" Ponta dos Ganchos Exclusive Resort " is my favorite hotel there. It is situated on coastal point(looks like because of and island) and unique in beauty.
If you want to be there then please visit this .

There's a hostel "near" Liberdade that's run by a funny little Chinese guy. He's great. Does anyone remember the name? It's around the corner from the Pao de Acucar.

Stay in a hostels are pretty cheap and good as well as stay in a hotel or a rental aratment. There are many good hostels in Sao Paulo, you can find them quite easily like Mercadao.
