Some Brazilians prefer condos in buildings since they might be easier to lock up.  This famiily returned to an empty house. They were cleamed out. They are nuying a cheap popular car and moving to a condo. The retired umiversity professor marked a note on her wall. "Dear theives, there is nothing left to take. They already took everything. Congrats on your efficient work." So if you have a house you really need some dogs.Wink

Jesus, and they have and electric fence. I wonder if they had an alarm system. I had my house broken into in the US of A, afterwards I installed an alarm system.

Apparently there is something Brazilians are efficient at. My next door neighbour was burgled the other day - while she was at church. Obviously planned. Now they have a dog. My other neighbour`s alarm system goes of regularly whenever the wind makes the trees move so now no one takes any notice.

All the people I know who have electric fences here dont turn them on?? Apparently they cost too much?

Elderly people living beside us got robbed on Friday afternoon, 2 young lads spotted the gate was not closed, ran in, held them at gunpoint and locked them in a bedroom, filled the family car with all they could, went and unloaded and returned until the place was stripped bare! Took the car as well! All in broad daylight!

This was a crime of opportunity, even in a good area of Ponta Negra you still need to be switched on! I would assume its the same everywhere!

Electric fences are pretty easy to get around. It always surprises me how most houses in SP look like little fortified buildings with tons of dogs. I guess this is one of the reasons that I prefer the far south of Brazil...
