Remember to keep receipts, avoid multiple same items, declare most of the stuff is for your personal use, dress like a tourist, black socks on sandals, shorts, funny sun hat, hawaiian palm print shirt, black leather belt, pen guard, man bag, water bottle on small backpack carry on, sun glasses, Rio Guide book in English in left hand... Wait for some brasser with huge boxes, suitcases in front of you...

Great image. It would be even more funny if it wasn't so true. Every time I pass through the airport I see folks like this, fresh meat for the grinder! I tend to keep a low profile but don't hesitate to speak english and appear american for what ever that is worth to the customs agent.

I know its offensive to raise old topics from the grave on some boards. Just want to say. It was a waste of time and money bringing in stuffs for sale. A lot of people bought on credit and outrightly refuse payment. And those that dead pay .. paid 40 reais 20 , 30 10, 50 , 40, in installments for items like Ipad. I sold at prices little lower than local stores, and the local stores would require them to have credit profiles.

Later on down the line, I  applied for a Cielo POS. But its all not worth it. The POS is not just for me but for namorada to use at her store too. But comes with fees of 75reais per month and 450 bucks to cancel it. .
