![]() Topic: Shipping box from Rio to USAPosted: 23 July 2012 at 09:19 |

I was wondering if anyone here had any experience dealing with FedEx/UPS/DHL or the Brazilian equivalent? I'm in Rio and I need to send some paperwork back to the States and was hoping to find a cheap(er) way to do it. I have probably 10-15 lbs that need to be sent.
What's the best/easiest way to do this? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks. |

10-15# is a lot of paperwork, rs.
I've done DHL/Mercurio for documents but for anything bigger than a letter only Sedex. Never had a problem. It is surprisingly expensive. |

Well the cheapiest option, for sure is by CORREIOS (mail), a box with 10 lbs, would cost about R$ 118,- ECÔNOMICO delivery in 13 - 19 days, or by EMS (express) R$ 209,- 3 or 4 days delivery. That would be the same time FedEx, UPS or DHL would take, but charging even more : FedEx Int.First 6,8 kg (15 lbs) = R$ 238,- DHL Express Worldwide (cheapest option) 7,0 kg = R$ 480,62 ![]() |

Thanks a lot for your help guys.
Sounds like I'll probably go with Correios. Are they trustworthy? I'm not shipping anything confidential or whatnot but I would like the package to arrive! |

scan and email? I've always had success with correios, it is more tricky to mail packages from the US to Brasil than vice versa

everything i've sent by Correios internationally has gotten there, as Andrew says, it's the other direction where things get lost. Keep your receipt and you can track it on the correios site.
