Of course you do!!!  "If at first you don't succeed...."  Wink

I made some fresh mozz with farm milk - was pretty good and was super easy - just milk, salt, citric acid and rennet. For cheddar you need a press and some skill, though.

...theres a guy with a pull cart hooked up to his bike that parks outside the grocery store everyday that sells homemade cheese. It wouldnt ever be my first choice among other options but its fine with crackers.

even my kid, who will eat ANY abomination of the food kind, the more processed and fake cheezy the better, won't eat cheddar flavor requeijão! that crap is BAD, she says.

I don't know, but you can get the horrible chedder at Bompreço which melts amazingly nice on a hamburger. It's of course the dirty kind which is packaged seperately, but it's better than the requeijão you've been complaining about?

They also sell chedder like all the meats, on a sheet white with plastic wrapped around it, although I never tried that one...

I mean, if all you want is mozz, that's pretty plentiful here already to varying degrees of quality.  There's no real selection for anything else, at least not in my local supermarkets.  Carrefour sells a handful of varieties.

3casas - any chance you know where I can find some cheddar in CWB?? Thinking about it, perhaps I'm asking the wrong person!! Wink

FYI for the rest of you, Pao de Acucar and Walmart sell a really good goats cheese. Not that soft, crumbly stuff - it's more like a cheddar/gouda but white. It's really good and won't break the bank.
