The documents that you need to bring to the marriage are:
original consular birth certificate, declaration of marital consular and passport.
The birth certificate and the declaration of marital status must be consulate, or you need to take these two documents to the Consulate of Brazil in its country of origin, to be stamped.
Only after this is that the documents will be ready for use in Brazil.
When you get here you need to translate a sworn public translator and then log into the registry of titles and documents, only after this is that your documents are ready to be brought into the marriage registry office.
We can help you in what you need, request a free quote on our site www.casamentocivil.com.br

Thank you
Elza

Zé, 1500 R$ to get married ??? Should cost some R$ 150 or so. Getting the documents consularized, no lawyer or casamentocivil.com.br can help you with that. Only yourself and a trip home, or friends/family back home and the postal service.

But hey, not being a lawyer, I'll send your documents to a translator ofr only R$ 1399 (of course you'll have to pay for the translator).

Of course. One doesn't need a lawyer to get married.

I was here illegally...that´s why I hired an attorney and because I wanted to have a pre-nup...

Plus, Elza is not even an attorney!

Gentlemen, given that marriage can be one of the more onerous contracts that one can enter, may I suggest that both a lawyer and psychiatrist be consulted prior to agreeing to plighting one’s troth and the relief of entitlement to at least half of one’s assets.
