Topic: Where and how to PAY FINE for visa overstaying

Hi There,
Where and how can one PAY the FINE for overstaying on ones visa??
Is it neccessary to go to Police Federal before hand??
Or can one simply find the appropriate bank account to make the payment?
If anyone knows the correct procedure, please advise.

You just have to present yourself at PF, they will give you a boleto that you will pay at bank and come back with proof of payment. Easy !

What if you are not able to pay the amount right away...
How is it possible to pay from abroad?
Or upon re-entry into Brazil, when you are stopped at the airport's customs?

Hi Ezet I actually just paid mine today. The agent gave me 2 options, you can pay now or the next time you enter Brazil. The fine depends on how long you overstay. I overstayed 4 months and the bill was R$827

You were only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!

Then you just need to inform the number of days you´ve overstayed. And the programm will calculate the fine, the max. amount is R$ 827,75 !

create the GRU (payment slip) print it and then pay the fine at any bank or via internet.

Very important: Keep the reciept untill your next return to Brazil. Just in case they didn´t register the payment, then you still have a proof.
