can anyone comment on the fee structure please? I think HSBC premier is 55 reais a month. What about Itau/Bradesco/Santander. Thanks

If you qualify for HSBC Premier, there are no fees, they are waived.

There are different ways of qualifying - one being having a minimum balance. If your balance dips below this threshold, you pay a fee...

Correct, I don't pay any fees.  Yet as Bubbles indicated, if your balance drops below ???  then you'll pay.  If possible, put a chunk in a CDB, so your balance won't ever drop below the minimum.  And instead of paying the bank, they'll be paying you!  Wink

What can you do with the itau iconta? You can get wires from the US at a good rate and withdraw cash from ATMS?

why not withdraw cash straight from a Charles Schwab US account? That is what I do, only reason I would ever wire is if I needed a large quantity of money in a really short period. I pulled out R$30,000 in a month R$1,000/day when i needed it. Significantly cheaper than wires.

How do I get cash from a Charles Schwab US account in Brazil? I don't get its relevance here.

No fees, just go to any (I always use HSBC because it has no/low fees)ATM machine with your US card, withdraw money and it comes straight from your US account, much cheaper/easier than wiring money.
