I'm moving from Europe to Brazil and would like to take a RV, is that allowed?
Thank you. |

Be prepared to cry when you find out about the cost of importing it.

And "new" means, never registered before. It has to get it's first registration in Brazil. You have to pay around 100% taxes from the value what it could be selling as imported to Brazil originally (about twice the price than in your home country, unless US origin, then you need to triple the value). If there's no reference they will pull out a number from their sleeves. If you don't pay, the alfandega will auction it to their buddies
I have never seen an real RV in Brazil, except the TV Record Olympic Bus which is pretty close or those of the Formula 1 teams, but they come in with TIB's and F1 teams doesn't lack money.
I'd say forget the idea, sell it in Europe and in Brazil buy a 4x4 pickup and a box tent. That's RV in Brazil.

Don't you need special licenses for even moderately large vehicles in Brazil? I don't remember ever seeing many utility trailers in Brazil either.
Of course there are the logistics of driving a large RV around as well, the roads would be pretty terrifying for something that large. |

There is just so much to do in Brazil, and so little time to do it all! Planning my next Brazil Vacation and the countdown has started!

My Student has an RV. He is from the south and keeps it somewhere in Santa Catarina. But he bought it here in Brazil. I would think importing one would be more trouble than it is worth. Probably better buy it here.
