You my friend, got royally ripped off.

Penha X Ipanema (border of Leblon)  is about R$55 during the day and R$70ish at night.

I just went from Vilar dos Teles (Sao Joao de Meriti) to V. da Penha (about 15km, between cities, at 1am) for R$35

Tijuca X SDU should be about R$40 max.  Its less than 10km.

Were you in Tijuca or BARRA da Tijuca?

There shouldn't be tunnels or hills between tijuca and SDU, but Barra da Tijuca is very far away and would probably set you back R$80 ish bandeira 2 to  SDU on a normal day, since its more than 30km (R$100 would make sense, if by "hills" you mean going over the Estrada de Joao, instead of the Elevado, and you hit some traffic associated with work being done).
