![]() Topic: Business Account - Anyone use one of these?Posted: 19 May 2012 at 21:26 |
|
Im planning to open a business account as soon as my CNPJ comes in, wondering if anyone on here has transfered foreign currency (mine are dollars) into a business account and can tell me what they know about taxes, fees, etc. The plan is to transfer my funds into this account so that I can apply for an investor visa (and yes, i am actually trying to open a business and invest in Brazil). I have seen a lot about the IOF of .38%, but some lawyers I spoke to also mentioned a 6% tax of foreign investment...
If it matters, I currently use HSBC and have a U.S. and Brazilian account with them...
All help is much appreciated,

If you are planning to apply for an investor visa, you can only apply funds to this end transferred from abroad (DFI) during the visa process. The funds transfer is part of the process. Any funds already in Brazil will not count toward the total (needed in your case.)
I doubt you can open a business account without having a business. |
