Andys29: If you are moving to SP and looking for cheap on short notice, you have a big challenge ahead of you, especially if you do not already have friends or sponsor there and are depending on advice from strangers. SP literally has everything, but there is a big quality trade-off if you require cheap. You do not say how cheap, so your question is hard to answer.
Good luck. |

I have no friends there. I just wanted to know if there are
any places, like hostels where I could stay that are relatively cheap. Maybe
£20-£30 per day. |

I'm from London, so I know all about expensive cities. And I've been to SP and know it's mega expensive.

If you're coming from the US, the exchange rate is currently 2:1 - $1 USD will buy you $2 Reis worth of stuff. So if you have a major American Credit Card or other way to tap your American money, "cheap" doesn't have to be dirt cheap.
I just moved to SP in January of this year. My husband is from this city and works at USP. Maybe you could look into off-campus "student" housing for short-term low-cost arrangements? I don't know if you have to prove you are a student or not though. Hm. |

Hello! Nope I'm an Englishman... It's OK, my gf lives in outside of SP. We'd fallen out last week! I'm going to move in with her.
What does your husband do at the USP? And you? Are you enjoying life in SP? |
