![]() Topic: Name misspelled in D.O.U.Posted: 26 April 2012 at 15:51 |

So my daughter gets the telegrama that she was approved for perm. and published in the Diario (DOU), right? But they spelled her name wrong in the DOU. So, I go to do my local DPF and they say all I have to do is send an email requesting that she be re-published.
Anybody have a similar experience? Is it that simple? Surely with all the burro-cracia (as GrngoFlpa calls it) there must be more to it than that. At least another GRU, trip to the cartorio, doc authenticated in Timbuck-tu and Hail Marry for the Gipper, no? Any idea how long before they re-publish her? Thanks in advance. |

Thanks, Sven, but is it as simple as sending an email to the DOU? Seems to me they would need documentation, etc.
Any idea how long it might take to re-publsih in the DOU?

No offense Cat but if I were you I would send the email, say a prayer, and hope that it is that easy without asking any more questions!!! If something is misspelled here it is a nightmare and a half. (my mother's name is a typical two-word Irish name and it is spelled differently on every document, it's been a real headache)

Does the telegram have a return address? If so, send a telegram back informing them of the error. I'd pull out all the stops ASAP! Send all the things other's have mentioned, and be sure to include in your email a scan of her identity document, which shows the correct spelling. Edited by Gringo.Floripa - 26 April 2012 at 17:12 |

@3casas e GrngoFlpa: thanks for the input. The return address on the telegrama is a great idea. Thanks.

No, that's the sound of the expresso machine, making the cafezinho, for the break taken every 20 mins by the public servants. Didn't you know that the motto "Ordem e Progresso" continues on the back side of the flag? It concludes with "após esperando por MUITO tempo" ![]() Amanha = no ano que vem Patience is a virtue we're told, so in the end, every gringo will have become a saint by living in Brasil! Or, a flesh-eating zombie.... I feel your pain Catarinense, I do. Hang in there amigo! Forget these worries and go have fun at the Pinhão Festival. Doesn't that begin today? |

Thanks Gringo. Too true. LOL
Pol.B. - yeah, I've now emailed, telegrammed and emailed again - NAADDDAAAA!
Now that I've brought it to the DPF agent's attention, I don't know if he'd process it w an incorrect name. He's a real stickler. Abd worse, my 90 days is almost over, too.
