Why would people tattoo a bunch of names on their arms, legs or other body parts, is it to not forget the name of your spouse (left arm) and kids (right arm)?

I think they show their love to their loved one by doing this,love wants to express in my opinion.

A better question would be why would anyone want to have a tattoo in the first place?

I dont have any tats, but when I was younger I did want a big bear paw on my arm under my shoulder. Glad I didnt - theres no way Id be able to hide it living in the tropics! Never understood the name thing either (especially of spouses or worse yet namorados)
But, as always to each their own. |

Best one ever I saw was in a video store in the US. The girl had 'Daddy's Girl' tattoed above her left breast in very large font. WTF!!
