![]() Topic: Cartario Recommendations Needed - NO VISA?Posted: 12 April 2012 at 14:42 |

There are several people here who have successfully married in Brazil with expired visa. If you're one of these people, please can you post the city, state and if possible the specific cartario where you successfully completed your marriage.
I think it would be a good idea to have a reference list as such for those here without visas who are seeking the right cartarios. Thanks for sharing! ![]() Edited by DoofusGuy - 12 April 2012 at 14:42 |

The problem with cartrios is that it has to be the one responsible for the area where you live.
City: Presidente Kennedy, State, ES. |

Sven,
1) So if I live in Campinas, I can not get married in Natal. Correct? 2) And what about when 2 brazilians marry. Say one lives in Campinas and the other lives in the middle of the amazon? So where would they marry since they are both from 2 different city and states? Edited by DoofusGuy - 12 April 2012 at 16:16 |

1) No
2) either in Campinas or in the middle of the Amazon, where Judas lost his boots. |

So Sven... does that mean that if 2 people who were born in and liven most of there lives in for example Sao Paulo then moved to Forteleza for work and lived there for say a year before they were to get married CAN NOT go back to there home town/state and get married with all there families and childhood friends?
Pretty crappy situation if this is the case!!! |

Sure they can, but if one city has 5 cartorios, you are stuck with the one closest to where you live.
Besides, all you need is an electricity bill in your name. |

I think you miss my point Sven.. They want to get married not in the city where they now live but back in the city where their parents live... where they BOTH grew up but no longer live.

This is about overstayed entry stamps and not expired visas. |
