Your English is probably better than my Portuguese. I studied for six months about five years ago....and i've traveled to Brasil about 6-7 times. I know Spanish pretty well but sometimes that gets in the way. I think it is best to study on my own then when i have a question about something i can ask you. Maybe we can Skype once in awhile to work on our pronounciations and accents. What do you think? How can I help you?

Skype - karljmo - in my portuguese class all were native spanish speakers, then english, except me. They understood portuguese quicker and better than me but when they spoke they almost always said something in spanish. I spoke better portuguese though because i didn't revert to spanish like they did lol, anyway....

What you are trying to say is, "A lot of people think that Portuguese is similar to Spanish, but in really is nothing like it." A verdade é que o português é quase espanhol mesmo. Os dois idiomas são extrememente parecidos em termos de gramática, vocabulário, etc. |

I am an English speaker. It was a typo. It was meant to be 'it really is nothing like it.' "but they really are not similar at all," would be better.
