![]() Topic: Extending tourist visa - more questionsPosted: 12 March 2012 at 12:26 |

I have a ticket back home for 24th of March, but now I want to stay for six months. I arrived Feb 18th.
If I fill in the online form and go tomorrow to get a extension will the +90 days be from tomorrow or from the end of the first 90? [Will I get to stay 6 months?] Also, do I need to show them a return ticket/print out? The only ticket I have now is for 24th of March. |

That would be +90 days from the day they extend your visa, not the end of the first time frame! But the PF won´t accept you extention application, if you go there too early! You have to wait at least till one week BEFORE the first 90 days (if you got 90 days on your first enterance) will expire.
Sure, that´s one of the main requirements, as well as proof of sufficient financial resources to cover another 90 days, such as a international Creditcard. ![]() |

Once again, it all depends on the PF agent. For example, the PF agent I sat down with to make my extension simply asked me to pay the GRU and stay out of trouble. Never had to show proof of financial resources. |

I´ve never heared that you have to justify WHY you want to extend. Think about it, it´s just a tourist visa, what other reason could you have then wishing to sty longer!?!?!? The important is to have a return ticket and a credit card, to proof your financial resource, covering the expences for the extention period. Honestly I doubt that the PF even checks the credit card limit. In general it´s very simple to apply for an extention, as long as you don´t belong to one of thoose nationalities that have only a max. limit of 90 days per year, acording to the recent changes in imigration laws. ![]() |

its easy to print out a full refundable ticket receipt that you can just get the refund and buy a ticket later if you still don't have one
