Oi AndreainBrazil,
I have also been here a long time (thirteen years). I found this site recently too. We are meeting the first friday of each month. I am an 80's hippie. I have heard of these other Americans living in those places with children in the American school etc. I am definitely not one of those either. I also am without a car. You, your daughter and anyone else you know that is comfortable in speaking English are welcome to join us. If you read your email with any frequency it is a good idea to join the make-shift emailing list we have. (b s b a i x o AT y a h o o dot c o m d o t b r) The location of the encounter has always been the same place (until I joined) but we are looking for other options. We send out email to everyone a couple of days before the encounter reminding everyone of where and when it will be. Anyway, if you can make it we would love to have you. The more the merrier. b |

SEPTEMBER - MEETING
==================== E aí galera, what about the next meeting in September? The 1st. Friday will be Setpember 7th, BRAZILIAN INDEPENDENCE DAY!!! 
So probably no meeting, so what about September, 14th, or no meeting in September at all???

Me neither, but usually there is no meeting on holidays, because everyone leaves the city, especially when the holiday is on a friday!

Am from SP but will be over in BH for the long weekend, actually arriving Fri morning early by bus in BH....we staty there with family of my friend, but I may have some time to meet u guys. Where exactly will u meet and what time?
Great that community on orkut, is there a similar one for foreigners in SP?

hi all!
i'm desperate to move to BH (for many reasons I won't bore you with, but mostly because i'm just in love with the place) next year. currently looking for jobs - ideally english teaching, i'm a graduate (in music) from england and have always wanted to teach english abroad, but would consider any type of job really - and was just wondering if anyone knew of, or could suggest, any new avenues for me to try. i've written to all the companies i can think of/type into google, without a whole lot of success so far. i'm learning portuguese fast in the hope that this will help me out! i think i'm at a pretty reasonable stage now. here's hoping i can be meeting up with you guys in months to come out there (reading this forum makes me SO JEALOUS!!!) cheers, zeb |

What do you play/sing? I will be in Cambridge for a week. I'm leaving here on the 16th. You might try dice.com for whatever type of job. Here are two relatively big english schools here in BH. http://www.culturainglesa.com.br/ http://www.numberone.com.br/ From what I understand they pay badly but at least it is somewhere to begin.
