I am still up in the air about my name.
However, in a few months we are moving and changing municipalities, so my 5-year clock will restart and I won't be thinking about this naturalization silliness for at least that long.  So I have plenty of time to debate between

Rabiosa
Estherphanny
Martela (my favorite of the day)
and
Socorro

The only thing that costs money is the one from the "disttribuição de protestos". All others I obtained are free.

Hey Sven, I got my "last" document from the Secretária de Segurança this week. Guess what? No fingerprints or anything! I just gave them my ID and that was it. They handed me the paper.

@3casas, I think I know how you feel. I didn't start thinking about naturalisation until I started thinking about having to move away and not wanting to. I don't want to leave! And trust me, by going through all of this, I can tell you that the Brazilian government clearly views foreigners as foreigners, even though you dominate the language and have family here.
That in itself seems so strange to me. My life is here. Why would I not be treated as everyone else?

What do I have to do to be treated more like everyone else? Naturalise!

I still have to pick it up. Has been ready for a week. I guess I'll go there tomorrow.

Then I have to type up some statements and I go to the PF.

Any ideas on how long it takes?
