The most pertinent reply to inquiries like "advice on marriage" is DON'T! But few take this advice at heart.

You have to change your Attitude

I hope that you are not saying her the same things that you have just said on the forum
The biggest mistake is to show the woman that you  are crazy about her and that she is irreplaceable.
You sound NEEDY, Desperate, Wussy - WOMEN do not like such men
You are digging your own grave
you need to make women think about you instead of the other way around

Marrying her is a good idea, because you will be entitled to apply for permanent stay in Brasil.

When you come here look for a backup girlfriend, just in case...

I don't think you can generalize, people that say "this is what Brazilian women are like" or " this is what women think" are living in their own shallow little world.
I have married a Brazilian woman who I met and haven't regretted a moment of it.
Of course listen to yourself, be cautious, don't ignore the big head for a pretty face. Be yourself and if the potential love of your life loves that, then I'd say go for it.
Many people live their whole lives without really living at all, mainly out of fear.
Note that getting married in brazil is quite the procedure, there is quite a checklist.
If you come for 6 months on a tourist visa you will have to leave for six months afterwards, be prepared for that.

^^Not if he marries during the 6 months.
Getting married at the cartorio is pretty straight forward.
Do remember a prenup or she will bleed you dry if she divorces you.

He has no money,he is not rich, otherwise he would have arrived sooner instead of skypeing for 6 months.
He has been working hard for the last 6 months to save the cash for Brazil.

^^Oh my is he in for a shock when he meets her family, her children, her ex husband that she has a complicated relationship to.
You know, everything she forgot to mention on Skype

A lot of holding hands since without Google translate it will be complicated to communicate.

Getting married at the cartorio is a pretty straight forward thing if you are prepared and you came with a long form birth certificate and cash to translate it etc.
I agree that if he is rich, be careful. I doubt this is the case and that a prenup is necessary. And being that he is from Ireland, if they got married in Brazil and things went south, he could just go home. Their marriage would not be registered in Ireland so there would be nothing the courts in Ireland would do as far as taking his money and giving it to an ex wife.

Me: Do you have a child ? You have never mentioned..
She: Because you never asked.

Me: Is this your own house or do you rent it ?
She: No, it is the house of my exmarido (you cannot visit me there, he lives in the house on the other side of the road and he is very jealous )

The above mentioned  conversations really happened (in Portuguese language)
