So I live in Goias.  I don't like Pequi. :(

Sometimes, when I talk to Brazilians, I hear about certain foods defining their region.  Requeijao (my kryptonite - so tasty) is supposed to be better in Minas.  Pequi is strictly from Goias, nobody else eats it.

I've been eating a lot of farm foods from the market, like queijo frescal and jabutiacaba jam, but I like to eat the countries I visit.

So, what does your region do differently?  What does your region to better?

requeijão.. I never developed a taste for that stuff. I live in Minas the the dairy products are pretty famous. Empadas are also quite common here.

I'm really "nyãããã" (neither here nor there) on the food though. There's a wide selection, but I only eat the things that I like. The food in Portugal is still better than anything I've ever had in Brazil.

Requeijão, catupiry... it's no different from "Cheez-Whiz" in the US.  I keep that stuff a long way from my mouth, and stomach!  Dead

Yeah I found a farmer's requeijao.  That tastes good.

But I've also tried the cremoso from the store..  I have literally put that on a "Philly" steak sandwich (the girl likes American food).  Such a shame.

Let's all move to Portugal. Hahhaha, with Brazilian citizenship we can live there no problem. I remember stopping by the cafés in the morning to get a queque (do a google search on that!). The food in Portugal is so good. Breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner........ I can't wait to go back there.

The food there is GOOD - the best in Europe - and with the cheapest prices. Whoever doesn't agree can feel free to post [legitimate] responses here.

Too bad their descendants don't remember any of the recipes!  The Manezinhos only know how to fry fish.  And if you get tired of that... there's also fried fish.
