I'm wondering if anyone knows of any indoor or outdoor, five-a-side or eleven-a-side football teams here in Sâo Paulo. I'm English and played in England in a Sunday and a Saturday league team and would like to find something similar here if it exists.

Does anyone out there play?

If you can see Watford v Tottenham, which kicks off at 17:45 on Esporte Interativo you will see what kind of football I'm talking about!

And I mean the yellows, Watford!

This is apparently the best place in the world for football and I still haven't been able to find people to play the game with. Does anyone out there know anyone who plays in the evenings or something?

When I lived in BH I played several times per week. As you make friends ask to go along to their peladas (informal pick-up games.

A lot of people have confirmations for their peladas on http://www.peladeiro.com.br.

A lot of the people you will meet there will also play on   big field teams. I started playing once per week and after about 6 months I was playing 4 to 5 times per week.

also, if you go to where the short sided pitches are located they will have league info there too.

just wander around... you'll see people playing footy everywhere... I've played a bit here but need to take care with my dodgy ankle...

don't hoof it though - you have to love the ball and be prepared to take those trainers off to play bare foot!
