Let's just hope this love story won't turn into another ball massage incident which happened 2 -3 years ago.

Hey Lizza,
I hope (and think) that this looks like the real deal. I'm sure you will do fine with your new relationship in Brazil! You are completely right about this site being filled with people who think nothing is possible and all gringos are stupid, but I'm not one of them! I plan on moving to Brazil after college also. Boa Sorte e Abracos! MTM |

Just treat it like any other relationship.
What would you normally do ? |

leaving for Brazil next week, so I will let you all know how it goes! Also, the school I will be working for asked me if there is any chance I am interested in marrying someone brazilian yet...which I thought was a weird question. Anyone else have this experience? I'm sure they are asking because the work visa is complicated to get....but asking me to marry someone seems extreme. If anyone could shed some light on that one it would be much appreciated!

in case you want to you could actually get paid in dollars for this marriage, if you find a brazilian interested in a green card. In the end each party walks away with permanent residency and you make some on the side.

haha yeah I'm sure that works out well for some people! I'm in a situation where I don't think either of us would be marrying for visa reasons though. I'm not going to jump into a marriage so I can work in Brazil legally but I thought it was interesting/weird that the school I'll be working for brought it up. It doesn't seem to me that most people would be willing to jump into something like marriage for a teaching job...but I guess you never know!
