You don't get that with the police, but with the Secretária de Segurança do Estado. You'll also need the one from the cartorios de distribuição estadual e federal. Federal is ready while you wait. State in rio takes a week. |

In addition to the Federal and State, here was one report I had to get from the delegacia of the local policia civil. |

They told me that I have to go to BH to get that document. Does that sound reasonable? What a drag. Gawd, I hate going to BH. It will be a much bigger (and costlier drag) if I have to go once to request it, and once again to pick it up!! My wife called the PF, and they said it was "strange" they couldn't issue me this document in the city. Maybe this PF didn't know.. sei lá.
The crazy thing is that we we to 2 forums today for the antecedências criminais. We asked for the criminal and civil (maybe this was related to processos.. I think?) |

Have her call two more times (I assure you each answer will be different). Then write all three answers on a strip of paper, put them in a hat, and pick one.... Bob, I know that in some of the small towns up in the serra, one can have many of these documents pulled by a contábil (often the only one in town). That depends, not each PF Delegacia attends foreigners, if the next one is just in BH, you won´t have a choice. ![]() |

Yes, the secretaria do estado is in BH, so you should go to BH. You can get a despachante to do it for you, or give a POA to someone that you know that lives there. |

@Sven, they said here that I have to personally "sign" in front of someone. But I still like the despachante route, and I think I will try that. BH is too freaking hot nowadays!
@MA - no.. the PF can't give me this document. Only the secretária do estado. It's kind of making me wonder though, could I got out and committ a bunch of crimes, and they would have no record of me here. Seriously, this is a "strange" problem.... ![]() Edited by spongebob - 01 February 2012 at 17:21 |

You have to go to the Secretária de Segurança do Estado de Minas Gerais in person as they will take your finger prints , check their system, print the document then ask you to sign after confirming all the information is correct.
Also you can get it online at https://wwws.pc.mg.gov.br/atestado/inicial.do;jsessionid=2A863E30D51757CDD97EB46E43A7EDB2?evento=cookie You may want to check this site out also: http://www.dpf.gov.br/servicos/antecedentes-criminais/ or visit: http://www.documentoonline.com.br/pess/certido/cert.html (they work as a depachante as well) I would recommend you pay them a personal visit at their physical office if none of the above can work. Bearing in mind..all those documents have a validity of 90 days at the day of submitting ur application....and i am also certain there would be something wrong and u may have to revisit them at least 4 or 5 times before you can actually submit the application/request/pedido..... This must be another one of those "YMMV" anomalies. I never had to have my prints made, other than at the conclusion of submitting my request to be naturalized. The day you submit your application, the PF will do computer scans of your all fingers separately, and then each entire hand. I might have signed something when I picked up the antecedentes criminais report from the local delegacia of the policia civil (don't recall now), but I had an attorney gather everything else for me (and he probably used a despachante), so I know without a doubt, I didn't have to sign for any other reports. Yet maybe the attorney was able to obtain them, via a despachante, because I did sign a POA...? I know you don't want to go to BH Bob, but you might want to consider making a personal visit to the PF, before you actually submit your naturalization request. I understand some places like Rio and Sampa require making a rez on-line before going to the PF, but for now, here in Fpolis, it merely consists of getting there early to leave your name on a list, then returning at noon when they hand out senhas (according to the position of your name on the list), and then at 13hs they begin to call the senhas.... I've gone multiple times in order to clear up questions I had about this process, and the renewal of my investor visa. Each time has proved helpful, and at the very least, you establish some "face time" with those you'll need to deal with later on. Each location/state is different, but I believe these additional visits assisted me afterwards; they might not remember your name, but they'll remember your face. Also, as mentioned in the earlier posts on this particular thread, it's really best to go by at least once, in order to obtain the actual application and other assorted "templates" of declarations they want filled out in a very specific format. Think of it as a treasure hunt Bob! ![]() Edited by Gringo.Floripa - 01 February 2012 at 20:56 |
