Opened up a poupanca account with a credit card at CAIXA here in my city on Tuesday, so far I havent heard any news back about any errors happening so that sounds good. I know that when I tried it at Bradesco they received a message the next day saying that it hadnt worked and Id have to wait for an RNE (this was while I was still in the process of obtaining permanency). Ill give it a week before I get too excited about something going right for once.

Documents I used - Passport, power bill from my home, letter from my employer with how much i earn, CPF, protocol slip of paper with the SIAPRO number. Can anyone give me an idea of the process in getting your SINCRE printout from the DPF? Its quite obvious to me that the agent at my DPF has no idea, he told my secretary that can only get my SINCRE print out after I wait until my 'Naturalisation process' has been approved and my name has been printed in the DOU which usually takes 12 months. Anyway, youre right, Ive discovered I can get a bank account and start working and pretty much live a normal life, just waiting for my SINCRE number from the DPF to get my CT after that I've been told by the bank that I can open up any kind of account. Oh, bunyni, if you talk about timing since the moment you applied for the card (I mean after all other procedures, like the visit of Federal Police, leaving your finger prints in the FP, etc.), I think you are too optimistic, thinking that in 1 month some miracle might happen. My timing: applied in February 2012, September 2012 I had the card, which means 7 months. My name appeared on web after 3 months, I guess.
But you can already have your bank account, if you have this "protocolo", where  there is your picture. It is already written there the number of your CIE card. It's kind of official document which can be presented in bank.

If you talk about the process timing in general (since the moment I first went to the Federal Police until I had my card in hands): I applied in 5th of August 2010 and had my card in September 2012. Well, 2 years and 1 month.

The only way to find out whats really going on is to CALL MJ and talk to them very nicely in good portuguese. Ironically your card was manufactured in Brasilia, and sent to SP to be delivered to you. But this "Data de Atualização" is just funny coz I am sure that at least until the 5th of July there was "Atenção: Não foi encontrado nenhum registro!".

But anyway, Pegona, the only thing which I can recommend is patience. Confused How long since you've applied for your RNE?
I don't know if writing to the Federal Police will help but at least you try. I wrote to the Ministry of Justice, Foreign Relations Department. They helped me once  in another situation (police was not making a visit for too long and they told me the name of responsible for my process) and I hoped they might help again but they said that now everything is under control of the Federal Police and nothing can be done. Just wait....

I have applied for my RNE card at 08/02/2012 and I received the protocolo with the number (Siapro delemig/sr/sp 08505.011***/****-**). When I enter the above given link (https://servicos.dpf.gov.br/sincreWeb/pesquisaAndamentoProcesso.jsp) and digit the number, it gives me the message: Atenção: Não foi encontrado nenhum registro!
It has passed almost 4 months and still nothing on the web? Not even that it is viewed by some Sr.X in Brasilia? Should I worry?
I ask because I have already had problems in the beginning of the process. I gave all my documents and for 1,5 years was waiting for the visit or some changes (http://portal.mj.gov.br/), but it was written that "The process is not found"). When I finally called to MJ and complained, it was discovered that in Federal Police in Sao Paulo they have forgotten to put my data to their database. What is worse, my process didn't even start...1,5 years of waiting for nothing... Because of somebody's ignorance and incompetence. Now I am just concerned that they have forgotten again!!!

I might suggest for them to put requirements for things online in a clear fashion and to print the cards in less than 6 months too. Oh Brazil does, here in MG for example, they send the driver´s license by mail, each year they send the anual document for your car by mail !!!

Even the US does, US citizens in Brazil have to apply for passports by mail, wich are issued in the US and send by mail !!!

So send it to my local PF, plenty of PF offices a lot closer to my house than their HQ in Lapa. I got my passport from the consulate via regular mail in the US, I would pay for some sort of courier delivery. Life is easier with that card instead of protocolo printout when it comes to opening bank accounts and other fun bureacracy.

Same thing in Rio, process is much more efficient since they hired a new guy to deliver CIE. Website with availibility of CIE helps a lot also ! PF in Lapa has a new system for RNE issues, I waited maybe only 15 minutes in a line right next to the main entrance where they stamped my protocolo with a new date. My status on line is still "Em Fabricação" and my RNE was issued November 17, so my 180 days are about to be up and it would seem my card won't be ready. Does this mean I need to go to the PF to renew my protocolo or can I just wait until the card is ready? If I do have to go, which line do I wait in at the PF, I am assuming I should feign ignorance and wait in the Pick up CIE line? Do I need to bring anything other than the protocolo and passport?   Thanks!

Just a tip :

I check the website today and my status changed from "Sent to DPF" to "Disponível para entrega". I think this time is the good one :)

So wait for having status "Disponivel para entrega" and not only "Sent to DPF" (even if it has been sent more than one month ago, it doesn't mean that the card arrived / or is ready for delivery, don't ask me how this is possible ...)

I think that means you aren't in the system, I had the same problem until one day it come up, the day it worked also happened to be the day listed as"when the status was "updated". Went to PF in lapa with a printout from the website and the information was correct according to the website. However it was sent to the delegacia in Bahia.

So i asked what it was doing there and she said she doesnt know why but Brasilia is sending the cards out to Bahia. Im sure not all of them are being sent there but enough to make me believe that im not the only one who has there card waiting for pickup in a completely different estado.

She asked me if i would like to pick it up from there, so i laughed. Then she made a request for it to be sent to SP and said i should come back in another 2 months.

So im assuming that it got sent to the PF, just hope it was the PF in SP/Lapa

Went by and saw Mr. "Mansinho" from my local DPF and he re-affirmed that my card was not there yet.  Wacko   I showed him the printout from the previously posted link and he told me it just meant that it was ready to be sent out from Brasilia.  WHAT?????  It was dated Sept. 9, 2011!!!!  How can it take over 7 months to MAIL a card from Brasilia to SC?  Angry  [not a happy camper]

I went to pick it up the first business day on Jan this year.
It was printed 29th of Sep 2011. I just waited the 6 months as they told when applying. That was the time the protocolo was valid so if no card you need to renew the protocolo.

Great site.  Thanks for posting the link.  On my CIE renewal, the "situacao" diz "Disponivel para entrega."

Well that sucks, how much is the fine if I don't go in time? I really don't want to trek out there to renew and again to pick up the card if its not ready. Ridiculously long process to get this card, glad I at least got the visa at the consulate in the US, I hate Lapa

You go to the PF and ask for extention of the Protocollo, for another 180 days.
