The 17th Bienal Book Exhibition began last week in São Paulo and will run until this Sunday, May 5, at the Centro de Exposies Imigrantes. The exhibition’s main goal is to promote reading among children and young people and to launch new authors. The Brazilian government spends around R$10 million a year on books which it distributes free to school children. This year’s special guest is French philosopher Jean Baudrillard.
