Acesita sees 1H2004 profit grow 89% to R$ 191.06m

São Paulo, Aug 04 - Brazilian steelmaker Acesita on Wednesday said that its first-half net profits stood at R$ 191.06 million ($1 = R$ 3.05), 89% higher than in the same period last year.
Net revenue increased 38.5% by the same comparison to R$ 1.49 billion, while gross profits jumped 77% to R$ 532.4 million.
Operating profits totaled R$ 245.83 million in the first six months of the year, up 143%.
At the end of June, Acesita´s net equity amounted to R$ 1.22 billion.
