IBGE: Brazil Nov unemployment 12.2% from 12.9% Oct

Rio de Janeiro, Dec. 22 - The rate of unemployment in Brazil fell to 12.2% in November from 12.9% in October, according to figures out Monday morning from the Brazilian Census Bureau (IBGE). This was the first reduction to the rate this year and was due to "seasonal factors", according to the IBGE. Nevertheless, the figure was still the highest recorded for a November since the 10.9% of November 2002. According to the IBGE there were 18.84 million people holding jobs in November in the six metropolitan regions that were polled, up 1.1% on October and 3.5% on November 2002. The number of job seekers in November was 2.6 million in the six regions, down 5.7% on October.
